Retribution, It’s finally here!
Two weeks ago the cast and crew of Retribution had its first showing at Home cinema in Manchester. Futureworks students were invited to this private performance. Just over 100 people attended including the many of the student’s that worked on the film. The film was projected from a professional DCP that was supplied by friends at Columbia University NY, whom Futureworks is currently collaborating with on student projects. The performance was a great success with many students seeing the entire film for the first time.
Some reactions:
“it was great, far funnier than I expected, brilliant job” Rick Carter actor
“I’m so proud to be involved in such a great film” Ed Cuss Film and TV Student
“It just goes to show what is possible and I hope we can do more” Joshua Young Post production Student.
“seeing your work on a huge screen just wants you to work harder it’s an amazing feeling” Oliver Bates visual effects student
“Incredible best thing I’ve seen all year” Steve McTigue Actor
The film made by Futureworks Students for under £1000 has been entered into Raindance Film Festival and is hoped to be on release early next year. Richard Hellawell the writer/Director of the film said “it was incredible to get so many students together and produce an independent feature film. The students have learnt so much from the journey and I’m looking forward to when we can do it again for the next crop of highly motivated Futureworks students”.
Cheers
