UK Games Fund Announces First Round Winners For Tranzfuser 2017
The UK Games Fund’s Tranzfuser competition is back and 23 teams have been selected to join the fold for 2017. If you are unfamiliar with the Tranzfuser competition concept the rules are quite simple: 23 teams of university graduates pit it against each other to score themselves a prototype game budget of £5,000. The winners of the competition will then have a chance to bag an unbelievable £25,000 to complete and finalise their game for future release. Tranzfuser is designed to provide a platform for the creative leaders of the future.
Here’s the best bit…we’re proud to announce that two teams from Futureworks have already made it in! Games Design graduates Broken Pixel Studios and Foxtrot 203 have made it into the first round and are now among 21 other teams who will battle it out for the grand prize. Both teams will now develop their games to prepare for the finale, which will take place in September of 2017. We wish you the best of luck teams.
Futureworks students are no strangers to the Tranzfuser competiton. Last year, two Futureworks graduate game studios Astro Manatee and Cold Sun Studios ended up qualifying and then winning prize money in the Tranzfuser 2016 competition. Each team recieved a top-up grant after clearly demonstrating to the UK Games Fund their continued progress throughout the competition.
